 My Sister’s
Keeper Mentoring Program
Through a
two-year engagement funded by Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s Women and
Girls Funds, Big Brothers Big Sisters hopes to address the gender achievement
gap our young girls face by exposing them to STEM (science, technology,
engineering and math) activities and career pathways in our My Sister’s Keeper
Mentoring program. We recognize how important it is to teach our young girls to
advocate for themselves. Mentoring is a proven strategy that builds
self-confidence through the support of a caring adult. The agency will continue
to provide STEM-focused events and support the matches to explore
non-traditional college and career options. If you, or someone you know would like
to become a mentor for a young girl and help her become one of our future doctors, engineers
or astronauts, please contact Lisa Humphrey, Vice President of Programs, at
810-235-7271. Newsletters My Sister's Keeper Newsletter - May 2017 My Sister's Keeper Newsletter - July 2017
