Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County will celebrate Dr. King through its 19th Annual Mentoring Inspiration Breakfast on Monday, January 20, 2025 at St. Michaels Conference Center.

Registration is from 8:30-9:00 a.m. with the program beginning promptly at 9 a.m. The purpose of the annual Mentoring Inspiration Breakfast is to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy through the promotion of a commitment to mentorship and service in our community. Mr. James Avery, Genesee County Commissioner and CEO of Berston Field House, will serve as Master of Ceremony.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Launches National Brand Campaign "It Takes Little to Be Big" to Transform Mentorship Across America

Big Brothers Big Sisters of American (BBBSA), the preeminent one-to-one youth mentoring organization in the United States,  has launched a bold new brand campaign “It Takes Little to Be Big,” to challenge the myths and shift perceptions of mentoring and why now, more than ever, mentorship is critical to the success of kids today.

Aloe Blacc's 'Never Let You Down': A Tribute to Big Brother's Big Sisters

Singer-songwriter, philanthropist, and BBBS supporter Aloe Blacc released an original song and campaign anthem “Never Let You Down,” inspired by the stories of matches across the country. The song is available for download on all streaming platforms, with a portion of proceeds supporting BBBSA.

In collaboration with #NFL Inspire Change, Big Brothers Big Sisters is launching the Big Draft campaign to inspire more men, particularly men of color, to become more mentors for youth in their community.Our goal, together with 230+ BBBS agencies nationwide are working to recruit 10,000 mentors in 60 days.Today, one in three kids in America are growing up without a positive adult mentor in their lives and there are currently over 250 kids in Flint and Genesee County on the waitlist for mentors and most are boys of color (48%).As the NFL drafts its next class of players, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint & Genesee County will draft its next class of mentors. Little Sister Emery and Big Sister Adrianne were matched on 5/23/23 and together, they’ve been focusing on supporting Emery’s educational goals.
