Yesterday was an incredible opportunity for our matches and families as they visited the office of Representative Kristen McDonald-Rivet and met with her team to learn firsthand how a district office serves the community.The team delivered an engaging presentation that brought civic life to light in a real and relatable way. Youth learned how elected officials and their staff stay connected to constituents, how community concerns are received and elevated, and how congressional inquiries are used to help individuals and organizations navigate challenges, access resources, and seek information. The session helped demystify the relationship between representatives and constituents and showed how communication and advocacy shape responsive public service.The visit sparked curiosity and meaningful conversation as youth discovered that government is not distant in the future, but something they can engage with and influence today. It encouraged them to ask questions, think critically about their communities, and recognize that their voices matter in shaping decisions that affect their daily lives.We are excited to continue creating experiences like this that connect young people to opportunities, people, and places they may not otherwise encounter. We aim to broaden their perspectives, strengthen their confidence, and help them envision new possibilities for their future. We’re thrilled to share an inspiring collaboration with Epic Ink Pros—a woman-owned direct-to-wall printing studio serving Michigan and the Great Lakes region. Together over the last couple of months, we’ve been working with our incredible Littles to bring a one-of-a-kind mural to life right here in the BBBS office.In our first meeting, Epic Ink Pros spent time with our Littles... inviting them to dream big and express what mentoring means to them through drawings, quotes, and personal messages. It's a Wrap!The 47th Annual Gary Haggart Bowl For Kids' Sake, presented by the Arby's Foundation, officially concluded on Thursday with our Wrap Party at the Arby's Location on Hill 23 Drive in Flint!This year's campaign raised a total of $123,167.63 for Kids' Sake!!!
